The suspect has been placed in custody at the pre-trial detention center of the Uralsk Police Department.
The West Kazakhstan CyberPol unit of the regional police department has identified and apprehended a "dropper" (a participant in a fraudulent scheme), as reported by Sarbaz.kz with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
"It has been established that while in the city of Kokshetau, the suspect engaged in fraudulent activities and embezzled over 12 million tenge," the department's statement said.
The dropper turned out to be a 24-year-old native of Moscow. Local Kokshetau police officers participated in his arrest.
The suspect has been placed in custody at the pre-trial detention center of the Uralsk Police Department. Investigative actions are underway, and his involvement in other similar crimes is being examined.
A dropper is an individual used by fraudsters to carry out their objectives. They are not the instigators of the crime but rather execute instructions for monetary compensation.
