Border violators have been apprehended by servicemen of the Border Service Department of the National Security Committee (KNB) in the West Kazakhstan Region.
Five foreign citizens were detained while attempting an unlawful crossing of the state border bypassing established checkpoints into the territory of the Russian Federation, reports Sarbaz.kz, citing the KNB press service.
According to the agency, the foreigners arrived in Kazakhstan by air as tourists. Preliminary information suggests that they were en route to European Union countries in search of better living conditions.
"By the decision of the court of the Taskalinsk District of West Kazakhstan Region, the detainees have been held administratively accountable and deported beyond the borders of the Republic of Kazakhstan," states the press release from the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
