Colonel Timur Espaganbetov has been appointed as the head of the Military Institute of Air Defense Forces in Aktobe. Previously, this position was held by Colonel Talgat Syzdykov, who now serves as the Chief of the Main Directorate for Educational and Ideological Work of the Commander-in-Chief of the Air Defense Forces, according to a report by Sarbaz.kz.
Born on August 20, 1973, in the village of Ilek, Aktobe Region, Colonel Timur Espaganbetov graduated from the aforementioned aviation institute in 1998, which was then known as the Aktobe Higher Military Aviation School.
From 1998 to 2010, Timur Espaganbetov held various roles, including senior pilot, commander of the training aviation unit, deputy commander of the squadron for educational and social legal training, and commander of the aviation squadron. He attended the Zhukovsky and Gagarin Air Force Academy in Russia from 2010 to 2012. In the years 2012-2014, he served as a methodologist and head of the flight training department at the Military Institute of Air Defense Forces. From 2014 to 2017, he was the deputy commander of the unit (responsible for combat training) and head of the combat and physical training department.
Between 2017 and 2021, T. Espaganbetov served as the commander of the Training Aviation Center of the Air Defense Forces of Kazakhstan in Balkhash. In 2021, he assumed the position of commander of the Air Defense Forces unit in Shymkent. Additionally, in 2021, he underwent training at the General Staff Academy of the Armed Forces in Moscow. He has been decorated with seven medals: three jubilee medals and four for years of service.
