President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, received the Commissioner for the Rights of Socially Vulnerable Populations, Svetlana Zhakupova, as reported by Sarbaz.kz with reference to the Akorda press service.

During the meeting, discussions centered around improving the quality of life for the population and undertaking institutional reforms within the social support system.

The Head of State issued a series of directives to Svetlana Zhakupova, aimed at ensuring the guarantees of rights and lawful interests of socially vulnerable segments of the population. Specifically, he underscored the necessity for proactive engagement with categories such as large families, single mothers, and mothers raising disabled children. He also emphasized the need for stringent oversight to ensure their rights and interests are upheld within the framework of the law.

Moreover, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. He entrusted the Commissioner to develop proposals for enhancing the legislative and institutional framework, which will elevate the living standards of this category of Kazakh citizens. He further highlighted the significance of close collaboration between the Commissioner and governmental bodies and civil society institutions to effectively implement the proposed approaches.
