A judicial-ballistic examination has been ordered
In the town of Shu in the Jambyl Region, a substantial cache of ammunition and weaponry was unearthed within the basement of an abandoned building, as reported by Sarbaz.kz citing Polisia.kz.
"Operational and investigative measures were conducted by the personnel of the Department for Combating Narcotic Crimes of the Police Department of the Jambyl Region. Nine units of firearms and ammunition were discovered: four units of single-barrel IZH-ZK hunting rifles of 16 caliber, one shortened single-barrel IZH-17 shotgun of 16 caliber, two units of the Baikal 79-9TM traumatic pistol of 9mm caliber, one pistol, 270 rounds of 5.45mm caliber ammunition, and a 9mm PM pistol, which was stolen from a depot during the events in January," the statement reads.
Currently, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated under Article 287 Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "Illegal Acquisition, Transfer, Sale, Storage, Transportation, or Carrying of Firearms, Ammunition, Explosive Substances, and Explosive Devices."
