The Ministry of Defence has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
Today, on August 15th, at the Taldykorgan Aviation Base, during preparations for the departure of a combat aircraft, a munition mishap occurred, as reported by Sarbaz.kz, citing the department's press service.
As a result of the incident, two servicemen were affected. One of the servicemen succumbed to the injuries sustained, while the other is receiving all necessary medical assistance.
"Investigative measures are being conducted, and further details are not subject to disclosure in the interest of the investigation. The command and personnel of the Armed Forces express deep condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased serviceman," the statement from the department reads.
