First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant General Marat Khusainov, participated in a conference of chiefs of general staff from Central and South Asian states in Tashkent. This information was reported by Sarbaz.kz, citing the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.
Lieutenant General Marat Khusainov attended the conference upon an invitation from the Uzbek side.
"The conference, organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the US Central Command, addressed regional security issues, including the situation in Afghanistan," the ministry's statement read.
During the event, bilateral meetings were held to discuss areas of cooperation.
