The commander of the Honor Guard Company reported to the President. Subsequently, the State Flag was hoisted, and the National Anthem was played.
The ceremonial event marked the official start of the celebration of the national holiday – the Day of the Republic. Flag-raising ceremonies will be held in all regions of Kazakhstan.
Throughout the country, a series of events are being organised in celebration of the Day of the Republic. In Astana, more than 200 festive cultural, educational, sports, and social events are planned.
On June 16, 2022, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed restoring the Day of the Republic to the status of a national holiday.
On September 29, 2022, Tokayev has signed a law that reinstated October 25 – Day of the Republic – as an official state holiday.
