Major Adylzhan Slyamov, a member of the defense department from the Almaty region, was on a family vacation by the Irtysh River when he heard cries for help.

Without hesitation, the officer rushed into the river, swimming to the spot where a 7-year-old girl was drowning. He dived underwater and immediately located the child. After pulling her to the shore, he administered first aid.
"The most important thing for me is that the girl is alive; the situation could have taken a different turn, and I was aware of that, but I managed to save her," - stated Adylzhan Slyamov.
The mother of the rescued girl, Kuralay Idanova, has expressed immense gratitude to the hero.
