A man, Louis Wright, has spent 35 years in a Michigan state prison after being erroneously convicted of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, as reported by Sarbaz.kz.
Louis Wright, now 65 years old, was released from prison due to DNA evidence surfacing, enabling him to seek compensation for each year unjustly spent behind bars, according to Sky News.
Living near the children's home in Albion, Michigan, during the 1988 assault, Wright was identified by a patrol officer who claimed to have seen him approximately five hours before the incident.
