The younger brother of the first president passed away at the age of 71. Bolat Nazarbayev passed away on Monday, November 13, at 9:51 at the age of 70.
"At 9:28, cardiac arrest (asystole) occurred. Resuscitation measures were carried out for 23 minutes, which proved to be ineffective," reports a source from Sarbaz.kz citing Ratel.kz.
Bolat Nazarbayev graduated from the agricultural college in Shamalgan with a degree in "mechanics" and the legal institute in Karaganda with a degree in "law, lawyer." He worked as a mechanic, deputy director of the Shamalgan collective farm, engaged in entrepreneurial activities in the sale of hides of small cattle, and was the vice president of TOO "Inkar Agro."
In 2016, Nazarbayev established the charitable organization "Saliqaly Urpaq."
In July 2022, media reported that Bolat Nazarbayev was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer complicated by hospital-acquired pneumonia, thrombosis, and diabetes.
On November 4, media again reported on Bolat Nazarbayev's critical condition. It was stated that the first president's brother had been hospitalized with a recurrent heart attack, and his condition was severe and unstable.
Over the past two years, Bolat Nazarbayev's name has been involved in numerous legal cases, where the results of the privatization of various assets, including AO "Almaty Heavy Machinery Plant," TOO "Naiza-BN," better known to Almaty residents as the wholesale market on Rozybakiyeva, were reconsidered.
