Turkish company FNSS has announced the progress in the development of a new Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) named Shadow River, based on the M113 armored personnel carrier. This information is reported by Sarbaz.kz, citing Turkish media sources.

The company emphasized that the application of such vehicles is becoming a frequent occurrence on the battlefield. The prototype of Shadow River was unveiled in 2019, and an improved version was introduced in 2021. Over the course of several years, this transport vehicle has actively participated in testing and exercises, providing support to infantry units.

"New variations have been developed in accordance with all operational requirements, and the concept for each variant has been meticulously developed. The remotely operated vehicle can serve, for example, as an ambulance equipped with stretchers, capable of evacuating wounded personnel from the battlefield. Such a transport vehicle can also be used for cargo transportation. The Shadow River concept can be applied as a fire support vehicle with integrated weapon systems, as well as a tactical reconnaissance and camouflage vehicle," stated the official announcement from FNSS company.
