The according decree will come into effect on 14th of July 2023.
From the 1st of January, 2024, fingerprints of individuals aged 16 and above will be included in Kazakhstani passports, according to a decree issued by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This measure, which comes into effect on July 14, 2023, signifies the implementation of new regulations regarding the issue, replacement, surrender, confiscation, and destruction of identity documents for Kazakhstani citizens, foreigners in Kazakhstan, stateless individuals, as well as travel documents.
According to the established rules, documents issued by the authorized authority are the property of the state and contain the following information:
When completing a Kazakhstani citizen's passport, the following details are indicated: surname, first name, patronymic (if applicable), date and place of birth, nationality as stated in the document serving as the basis for issuance, except for certain cases specified by laws and decrees. The passport is filled out in the Kazakh language, and optionally, at the owner's request, in Russian and English.
