President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has expressed the necessity of discussing steps to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine, particularly calling for a ceasefire, at the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Astana. Erdogan conveyed this position during a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as disclosed by the Turkish leader's administration.

"The leaders of both countries discussed recent events related to the Israel-Palestine conflict, Turkey's efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and Israel's human rights violations. President Erdogan emphasized the need for a detailed discussion at the Astana OTS summit of measures that can be taken to prevent Israel from violating international legal norms, ensure a humanitarian ceasefire, and prevent the spread of confrontation," read a statement posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
