US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has arrived in Kyiv, reported by Sarbaz.kz citing Reuters.
The meeting is linked to the upcoming "Ramshtain" format meeting. Austin also assured Kyiv of support.
"I have just arrived in Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian leaders. I am here to convey an important message: the US will continue to support Ukraine in its fight for freedom against Russian aggression - both now and in the future," wrote Lloyd Austin on social media X on Monday, November 20.
According to the Pentagon, the purpose of the visit is to strengthen strategic partnership, including providing the Ukrainian armed forces with combat capabilities for conducting warfare in the upcoming winter conditions.
It's worth noting that this week, Austin will chair the 17th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Advisory Group in the "Ramshtain" format, with the participation of 50 countries expected.
