A man armed with a weapon attacked tourists in Paris near the Eiffel Tower, as reported by Sarbaz.kz citing BFMTV. The assailant, previously convicted, assaulted tourists in Paris.
The attack occurred close to the Eiffel Tower. The 26-year-old Frenchman killed a German citizen, and two others sustained injuries. According to France's Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, the assailant was armed with a knife.
Media reports indicated that the man initially stabbed one person and then attempted to attack others with a hammer. Police subdued him using a Taser.
Upon arrest, he expressed distress to the police over the loss of lives in Afghanistan and Palestine, as well as the situation in the Gaza Strip.
The apprehended individual had been under the surveillance of French security services and was convicted in 2016 for preparing attacks. The Minister of the Interior mentioned that he had been dealing with mental health issues.
