Another batch of L-39 training and combat aircraft has arrived at the Balhash Air Base, a training and aviation center of Kazakhstan's Special Operations Forces, as reported by Sarbaz.kz citing the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan.

The aircraft have been equipped with new digital avionics, ejection systems, communication devices, and objective control systems.

The L-39 aircraft is designed for training cadets in piloting techniques, combat maneuvers, and flight crew training at educational institutions and military units, both in simple and challenging meteorological conditions, during both day and night.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Maksat Burataev, Deputy Commander of the Training and Aviation Center, flying the L-39 aircraft marks the first step towards mastering the fundamentals of the profession.

"For each cadet, a solo flight is a significant milestone, leading to qualification for basic and advanced aerobatics, navigational flights, cloud flying, low-altitude flights, and combat application against ground and aerial targets," the service member stated.

Certain modifications of the L-39 jet training and combat aircraft can be utilized as light attack aircraft and interceptors. The aircraft's jet engine can reach speeds of up to 760 km/h at an altitude of 6,500 meters.

As per information from the ministry, the armament of the aircraft includes training bombs, unguided and guided rockets, aiming and photographic equipment. This capability enables precision bombing with dive-release ordnance of 50-100 kg caliber, accurate shooting of unguided rockets like the S-5, and simulation of guided missile launches against aerial targets.
