Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Proposes Tourism Development to Central Asian and Arab States

The First Summit of "Central Asia + Cooperation Council of Arab Gulf States" took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, addressed the Summit of "Central Asia + Cooperation Council of Arab Gulf States," as reported by Sarbaz.kz, citing the Akorda press service.

Among the key areas of cooperation, the President of Kazakhstan highlighted the development of interregional tourism. Presently, Kazakhstan has implemented a visa-free regime with all the member countries of the Cooperation Council of Arab Gulf States and established direct air links with their capitals, the President noted.

"Central Asia possesses unique tourism resources that should be utilized. The tourism industry is considered one of the rapidly growing sectors of the regional economy. In this regard, we are ready to promote mutual advancement of the tourism product in cultural, educational, ecological, sports, wellness, and business spheres," stated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The First Summit of "Central Asia + Cooperation Council of Arab Gulf States" took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The forum was attended by the presidents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan on one side, and representatives of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain on the other. The next meeting is scheduled to be held in Samarkand.
