The annual interagency Republican Field Training "CBRN-2023" has concluded in Kazakhstan. The objective of this event is to enhance the professional training of specialists in radiological, chemical, and biological protection services, as reported by Sarbaz.kz with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This year's field training exercises followed a trilateral format for the first time. In previous years, similar exercises were conducted with the participation of units from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the National Guard.

Throughout the field training, military personnel honed their skills in identifying and assessing CBRN situations, ensuring the protection of personnel and equipment from CBRN contamination, and addressing issues related to responding to accidents (damage) at CBRN hazardous facilities, among other aspects.

The culmination of the field training included a competition among personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Defence, and National Guard, involving a relay race covering a distance of 2.5 kilometers. The relay consisted of 8 stages: evacuating casualties from the contamination zone, donning individual respiratory and skin protection equipment, setting up and dismantling specialized equipment, preparing decontamination kits, conducting reconnaissance using instruments, collecting soil and air samples, and analyzing meteorological data.
