Kazakhstan's officials and military personnel could soon face restrictions on visiting gambling establishments, unless it is deemed necessary for official duties. Proposed changes are outlined in new drafts of presidential decrees, as reported by Sarbaz.kz with reference to the Open Legal Acts website.

"These amendments aim to reduce reputational risks and prevent actions undermining the dignity and authority of state bodies by their representatives," states the explanatory note accompanying the draft decree.

Consequently, military personnel, law enforcement officers, civil defense and state border service officials, as well as state employees, will be required to refrain from visiting gambling establishments falling under the definition provided by the "Gambling Business" Law. An exception could be made for visiting casinos for official purposes. The document will be open for public discussion until August 28th on the Open Legal Acts website.
