From September 1st, citizens aged 18 to 27 who have completed their education and have not reached the age of 27 without lawful grounds for exemption from military service will be called up. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Department for Defense Affairs of the Turkestan Region, Zhandos Kulderbayev, as reported by Sarbaz.kz.

The autumn campaign for conscripting citizens into military service will commence on September 1 in the region.

"In connection with this, work has been organized at the conscription offices of local executive bodies for 14 district draft boards. In total, in 2023, it is planned to call up about 5,000 citizens for military service. In the spring, more than 2,000 young men joined the ranks of the Armed Forces, other troops, and military formations. During the autumn campaign, more than 2,000 people will be called up to the army," said Deputy Head of the Department for Defense Affairs of the Turkestan Region, Zhandos Kulderbayev.

Exemptions from conscription are possible for reasons related to family circumstances or continuing education, based on health conditions, as well as for doctors, teachers, individuals facing criminal cases, members of the crews of civilian aircraft and vessels, engineers, mechanics, and technicians in civil aviation, law enforcement officers, and citizens undergoing primary professional training in educational institutions.

Azamat Mukhametrakhimov, a military psychologist at the Department for Educational, Ideological, and Personnel Work of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Turkestan Region, noted that during the autumn conscription campaign, not less than 300 citizens of the Turkestan Region will be called up to the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. After six months, those who wish can remain in the service on a contractual basis.

Furthermore, measures are being implemented to attract citizens to the army, including the provision of credit holidays to servicemen, and for two years after completing their service, citizens are given the opportunity to enter universities without the Unified National Testing (UNT) or competition (on a paid basis) or enroll in military universities without competition.
