The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, instructed the Government to resolve the situation that has arisen on the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border in the spirit of partnership and fraternal relations between our countries, as reported by Sarbaz.kz, citing Akorda's press service.

The need to continue negotiations with the Kyrgyz side regarding the more active implementation of digitalization and automation to prevent illegal transportation of goods across the border was also highlighted.

Earlier, information emerged on social media that more than 370 trucks were stranded at the border with the Kyrgyz Republic. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, Erulan Zhamaubayev, cited that there were no instructions regarding commercial cargo.

However, over the course of a day, 274 vehicles entered Kyrgyzstan from Kazakhstan. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic did not impose any restrictions, and the checkpoint operated as usual.

As of August 23, there was a kilometer-long accumulation of freight vehicles at the entrance to Kazakhstan on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
