The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan acknowledged the untapped potential of the country's water resources during his visit to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, where he met with Wang Da, the Chairman of the Board of Qingdao Laoshan Mineral Water Co., Ltd, as reported by Sarbaz.kz, citing 24.kg.

Prime Minister Zhaparov highlighted the untapped potential of the country's water resources and expressed readiness to provide assistance in all areas of bilateral cooperation.

"We stand at the source of glaciers and are ready to export environmentally clean drinking water to China, European countries, and Asia. We need the expertise of companies like 'Laoshan,'" stated Zhaparov.

It's worth noting that recently, several districts in the Zhambyl region faced a shortage of irrigation water. Approximately 4,000 hectares of onions and sugar beets were threatened due to the insufficient supply of water from the Kirov Reservoir in Kyrgyzstan.

Additionally, several rural districts were disconnected from irrigation due to water shortages. Vice Minister of Ecology Galidulla Azidullin emphasized that each year, the water shortage is increasingly felt. The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan explained that water distribution with Kazakhstan is carried out according to water withdrawal schedules, developed annually before the start of the growing season. However, this year, these schedules were only coordinated and approved in June, taking into account the low water levels in the sources.
