The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development will approve instructions for the safe disposal of ammunition and explosives. This amendment is part of a new law recently passed by the Majilis (Parliament), as reported by Sarbaz.kz.

According to Deputy Aigul Kuspan, the law regulating the defence industry and state defence procurement is relatively new, having been enacted on March 18, 2019. Over the years, practical application of the law has revealed several issues. Consequently, these amendments were initiated.

"First and foremost, this document is necessary for the activities of the specialized Kaztechnology organization in Kazakhstan, which deals with the disposal of expired ammunition," stated Aigul Kuspan.

Under the new rules, the armed forces will independently procure components and spare parts of insignificant value through state procurement procedures. However, all matters related to the purchase of significant units and assemblies, such as engines, transmissions, and the like, will remain under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, as they require careful consideration.

The Ministry of Defence will develop and approve instructions for state aviation in accordance with the amendments to the law "On the Use of Airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Aviation Activities."
