The Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh will cease to exist from 2024. The corresponding decree to dissolve all state institutions was signed by the President of the unrecognized country, Samvel Shahramanyan, as reported by Sarbaz.kz citing Azerbaijani media.

"To dissolve all state institutions and organizations under their jurisdiction by January 1, 2024, and the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) ceases to exist," the decree states.

The decision has been made with the aim of ensuring the "physical security and vital interests of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh" in this complex military-political situation.

The population of Nagorno-Karabakh, including those residing outside the republic, will be informed about the terms of reintegration presented by Azerbaijan. Citizens will then independently decide whether to remain in Nagorno-Karabakh or leave it.
