A ceremonial opening was held at the Guard Garrison, marking the start of these joint exercises between Kazakhstan and India, as outlined in the bilateral cooperation plan between the defense ministries of the two countries, as reported by Sarbaz.kz.

The event was graced with the presence of Colonel Bauyrzhan Kurenkeev, the Deputy Commander of the Regional Command "South" for combat training, and Colonel Manish Pant, the Indian contingent commander.

"These joint exercises between Kazakhstan and India are being held for the fifth time. With each passing year, it becomes easier for us to collaborate with our Indian counterparts. The joint maneuvers are aimed at enhancing the operational compatibility of command structures and unit cohesion. During the exercises, commanders will gain practical experience in organizing the command of armed combat forces," noted Colonel Bauyrzhan Kurenkeev.

A notable aspect of the current exercises is the expansion of participants. In addition to ground units, military pilots from both countries, as well as Kazakhstan's Airborne Assault Forces personnel, are involved.

"The annual conduct of these exercises demonstrates the strengthening ties between the armed forces of India and Kazakhstan," emphasized Colonel Manish Pant. "The exercises contribute to our collective security and are essential for maintaining peace and stability in the region."

In this dynamically changing environment, military contingents will carry out counter-terrorism operations and practice tactical battle scenarios in urban and rural settings. Given contemporary challenges, air defense and electronic warfare specialists will undertake tasks related to countering unmanned aerial vehicles used by a simulated adversary.

The "KazInd-2023" exercises are scheduled to continue until November 11 of this year.
