"The head of state has signed a Decree awarding the Order 'Aybyn' II class (posthumously) to Alexander Ivanovich Rudenko, a teacher of elementary military training at School-Gymnasium No. 32 in Astana, for bravery and selflessness demonstrated in an extreme situation involving the rescue of a human life," – the Akorda statement reads.
The tragedy took place on July 12, 2023. In Shchuchinsk, Alexander Rudenko, a teacher from Astana specialising in basic military training, saved a drowning child but lost his own life in the process. He was 65 years old.
