In one of the veterinary clinics in Astana, a firefighter who rescued a dog from a burning house visited the animal at the veterinary clinic, as reported by a correspondent from Sarbaz.kz citing the press service of the Department of Emergency Situations in Astana.

On July 27, 2023, a fire broke out in Astana, engulfing eight barrels of flammable liquid and spreading to the roof of a two-story cottage and a separate residential house. While extinguishing the fire, Senior Firefighter Duman Amangel'dinov from the Specialised Fire Brigade No. 2 in Astana discovered a dog chained up. Amangel'dinov removed the chain and, carrying the dog in his arms safely pulled it out from the burning area.

A few days later, the firefighter visited his four-legged friend, who was given the name "Ugolek" ("small piece of coal"), at the veterinary clinic. The dog's life is not in danger, as it is currently under the observation of veterinarians
