The Israeli Ministry of Defense has announced that the United States has approved the sale of the advanced air defense system "David's Sling" to Finland, as reported by Sarbaz.kz with reference to the Jerusalem Post.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense reported that the United States has given the green light for the sale of the "David's Sling" weapon system to Finland in a lucrative deal worth 316 million euros (345.80 million dollars). Washington's approval was necessary due to the U.S. involvement in the development of the system, which imposes restrictions requiring consent from all parties for the sale of the air defense system to third countries.

It is worth noting that Finnish authorities approved the purchase of the air defense system in April, immediately after Finland's official accession to NATO.

"David's Sling," an advanced air defense system produced by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, has been in service in Israel since 2017. It is capable of intercepting missiles at a range of 40 to 300 km and is one of the components of Israel's multi-layered missile defense system called the "Iron Dome."
