After the initial qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa Conference League in football, Kazakhstan has successfully retained all four of its representatives, as reported by Sarbaz.kz.
In the UEFA Champions League, Kazakhstan's sole representative and strongest club in the country, "Astana," advanced past the Georgian champions, "Dinamo" from Tbilisi, in the first qualifying round. The first match in Astana ended in a 1-1 draw, but "Astana" secured a 2-1 victory in the return leg to progress further.
In the second round of the Champions League, the Kazakhstani champions will face another "Dinamo," this time from Zagreb. The matches against the Croatian team will take place on July 25/26 and August 1/2.
As for the UEFA Europa Conference League, three Kazakhstani clubs continue their quest. Kostanay's "Tobol" eliminated the Finnish club "Honka" in a two-legged tie (2-1, 0-0) and will now face Switzerland's "Basel" in the second round. "Aktobe" and "Ordabasy" will enter the tournament from the second round.
"Ordabasy" from Shymkent will compete against Poland's "Legia," while "Aktobe" will meet Georgia's "Torpedo" from the city of Kutaisi. The matches are scheduled for July 27 and August 3.
