ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) has published a temperature change chart on the Moon from its lunar module "Chandrayaan-3," as reported by Sarbaz.kz.

The national space agency stated that "Chandrayaan-3" measured the temperature profile of the lunar surface's upper layer around the pole to understand the thermal behavior of the Moon's surface.

"We all believed that the surface temperature could range from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius, but it is actually 70 degrees Celsius. It's surprisingly higher than what we expected," said ISRO scientist B. H. M. Darukesh.

"The probe is equipped with 10 separate temperature sensors. The presented chart illustrates temperature changes on the lunar surface/subsurface at different depths recorded during the probe's descent. This is the first such profile of the southern pole of the Moon. Detailed observations are ongoing," the ISRO statement said.

It's worth noting that an Indian lunar module previously made a successful landing on the southern pole of the Moon.
