Pentagon: US Engages with Russia on Aerial Operations in Syria

Pentagon Chief Affirms Protection of Their Interests

The United States continues to maintain contacts with Russia to discuss aerial operations in Syria. This statement was made by the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, as reported by Sarbaz.kz with reference to "TASS."

"We will continue to interact using established channels to convey our concerns, and we will engage with senior leadership appropriately," – Austin said.

The negotiations involved US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Australian Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs, Richard Marles and Penny Wong, respectively, taking place in Brisbane, Australia.

The head of the Pentagon added that the American side will continue to conduct operations "as it has always done in the aerial space."
