The combat fleet of the Turkish Navy has been enhanced with the amphibious assault ship “Anadolu” - the world's first vessel of its kind capable of carrying reconnaissance and strike drones, as reported by Sarbaz.kz citing local media.
The “TCG Anadolu” surpasses the characteristics of amphibious assault ships of Australia and Spain, such as “Juan Carlos I”, “Canberra”, and “Adelaide”, according to the Anatolian Agency.
Its distinctive feature lies in the ability to deploy reconnaissance and strike drones - the ship is equipped with the UAVs- Bayraktar TB2 and TB3. The latter represents a more powerful deck version of the TB2, featuring a folding wing and capable of carrying up to 280 kg of payload. Additionally, helicopters will also be included in the air wing of Anadolu.
The amphibious assault ship Anadolu has become the new flagship of the Turkish Navy.
