Meeting Between Russian Deputy Defence Minister and CSTO Secretary-General Takes Place

Alexander Fomin and Imangali Tasmagambetov Discuss Collaboration Matters.

A working meeting took place in Moscow between Russian Federation Deputy Defence Minister Lieutenant General Alexander Fomin and Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Imangali Tasmagambetov, as reported by Sarbaz.kz with reference to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

"During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on current matters of military cooperation and the enhancement of the regulatory framework within the framework of the Organization," states the department's release.

Imangali Tasmagambetov assumed the position of Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on 1 January 2023 for a three-year term. Previously, this role was held by Stanislav Zas, the State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus. The CSTO currently comprises six member states: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Belarus, and Russia.
