In a bid to simulate realistic scenarios and draw insights from recent wars and conflicts, South Korea and the United States are slated to conduct comprehensive military exercises, as reported by Sarbaz.kz with reference to Korea Herald.

The 11-day exercise, titled "Ulchi Freedom Shield 23," is scheduled from August 21 to 31, including a weekend break on August 26 and 27, a joint announcement by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea and the U.S. Forces Korea revealed on Monday.

The joint statement underscores that the exercises will closely mirror real-world conditions and will be informed by lessons drawn from recent conflicts. The upcoming UFS exercises, for instance, will encompass scenarios involving military preparedness in light of North Korea's escalating nuclear and missile capabilities. A focal point during the drills will be multi-level leadership and the integration of different branches of the armed forces. This process aims to ensure seamless collaboration across various domains - including space, land, air, sea, and cyber - in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

It's worth recalling that last week, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made personnel changes within the general staff and called on the military to "prepare for an offensive war."
