In Warsaw, a parade featuring 2,000 soldiers and over 200 units of military hardware marked a significant event on August 15th. This date holds symbolic importance for Poland, as it commemorates the day in 1920 when Polish soldiers and volunteers halted the advance of the Red Army toward Warsaw, thereby altering the course of the Polish-Soviet War. In the months preceding this victory, Soviet forces had achieved several military successes and were on the brink of capturing the capital of the Second Polish Republic. Poland's triumph on that day, known as the "Miracle on the Vistula," put an end to the Soviet westward march.

In recent years, Poland has significantly increased its investment in its Armed Forces. In 2022, Poland allocated 2.42% of its GDP to defense, a figure that has risen to 3.9% this year. The military parade held on Tuesday served as a showcase of strength, featuring the participation of 2,000 soldiers and more than 200 units of military equipment in Warsaw. American soldiers and contingents from several allied European nations marched alongside their Polish counterparts.
