Turkey Exports Armaments to 170 Countries Worldwide

One of the main exported units are UAVs

Turkey is actively exporting over 230 types of defense products to 170 countries worldwide. This announcement was made by the Minister of Defense Industry, Haluk Gorgun, as reported by Sarbaz.kz with reference to AzerPress.

Haluk Gorgun stated that the defense industry is currently one of the key sectors of the country's economy. This sector comprises nearly 3,000 companies and employs more than 80,000 individuals. Both original and collaborative developments are being successfully applied both domestically and internationally. The primary focus of these exports is on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones. However, the range of exported products also includes ground transportation vehicles and maritime platforms, totaling approximately 230 different items, as emphasised by Gorgun.

The head of the defense industry authority highlighted that the overall volume of projects in this field has reached a substantial sum of 90 billion dollars.

Over the past year, spanning from July 2022 to July 2023, Turkey has exported defense industry products totaling 5.2 billion dollars. This significant export activity underscores Turkey's stature as a notable player in the global defense market.
