The head of Roscosmos revealed that the agency is actively collaborating and maintaining close communication with counterparts in Kazakhstan. He emphasized the historical significance of Baikonur in global space exploration, stating, "The whole world's space exploration started from Baikonur. We are, of course, interested in continuing this tradition. It has a unique geographical location. Currently, manned flights are carried out only from Baikonur. We have not yet realized the possibility of conducting flights from the Vostochny Cosmodrome," said Yuri Borisov, the CEO of the State Corporation for Space Activities (Roscosmos), in an interview with Izvestiya.

He also shared that the Russian space agency recently received a request from the Kazakhstani side for the development of a communication satellite. "The launch of a Kazakhstani cosmonaut into orbit is being discussed; we have very close cooperation," added the head of Roscosmos.
