Joint Military Training Between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was Initiated

The military personnel of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan conducted joint exercises as part of the planned military cooperation between the defense agencies of both countries.

The joint Uzbek-Azerbaijani computerised command-staff exercise "UZAZ-2023" on the theme of "Organization and conduct of special operations of troops to restrict, weaken, and eliminate illegal armed formations" took place at the Training and Field Research Center for Modeling and Simulation of the Armed Forces, as reported by Sarbaz.kz citing the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan.

During the exercise, tactical assignments for groups, maps of the initial situation, and other data necessary for combat were presented to the participants. The preparations for the active phase of the exercise commenced. The military personnel of both countries exchanged views and experiences on preventing illegal border crossings and engaging in combat against illegal armed formations. Additionally, the Azerbaijani military delegation was given guided tours of the capital's landmarks: they laid flowers at the monument to Heydar Aliyev, visited the "Victory Park" memorial complex, the "Hazrat Imam" complex, the "Shahidlar hiyoboni," and the Museum of the History of the Timurids.
