US and Brazil Armies Forge Long-Range Projectile Production

The project aims to manufacture ammunition using innovative technologies.

The technical leadership of the Brazilian and US armies convened to initiate the executive activities for a project focused on the development and production of enhanced-range 120mm projectiles, as reported by Sarbaz.kz citing defensa.com.

These technologies involve modifications in the ammunition casing geometry, improving ballistic characteristics, new engine concepts, and exhaust ports. The ultimate goal of the project is to increase the range while reducing production costs.

Military representatives engaged in the science and technology of military materials participated in the meeting. The outcome established guiding principles for the initial four years of project execution, which were coordinated with the US Army's Capability Development Command.

 

It's noteworthy that the project implementation plan was signed by both parties.
